Huawei shares its commitment to Trade Regulation with the Spanish Deputy Minister of Trade

Within the framework of his visit to China, the Spanish Deputy Minister of Trade, Jaime GarcĂ­a-Legaz, held a meeting last week with Guo Tianming, senior Vice-President of Huawei Technologies, and James Lockett, Vice-President of Huawei Technologies and Head of Trade Facilitation and Market Access, to know the latest technological developments of the company and its strategy regarding international trade.

The Spanish Deputy Minister of Trade has visited the Huawei Executive Briefing Center in Beijing, where he has known the latest technological developments of the company in 5G, 4.5G, Cloud Computing and Smart Cities. He has also held a working meeting with James Lockett, Vice-President of Huawei Technologies and Head of Trade Facilitation and Market Access. During this meeting they have talked about the commitment of the company to compliance with global regulations on Trade and Customs, as well as its experience as a certified exporter.

The Spanish Deputy Minister of Trade, GarcĂ­a-Legaz, highlighted: “the investment efforts that Huawei has made in Spain during the last 15 years, and specially the commitment to educative projects”. On the other hand, he has recognized “the importance of promoting a open market and free trade.”

Guo Tianming, Huawei Technologies senior Vice-President, emphasized: “Spain is a key country in the European Strategy of the company. Huawei, with more than 1,000 employees and 30 million users in that country, has the solid commitment to become the reliable partner of the Spanish digital transformation.”

Lockett has presented to GarcĂ­a-Legaz the Huawei strategy and action plan to promote competition and create a favorable environment for the sustainable development of the ICT sector, on the basis of cooperation in formulating global policies and standards. James Lockett emphasized: “Globalization is a reality, particularly in ICT industry. As global company operating in 170 countries, we have the solid commitment to contribute to the Digital Economy Era, supporting the global trade and customs rules. Trade compliance is a top priority for Huawei.”

The Executive Briefing Center that Huawei has in Beijing is an interactive premises of about 74,000 square meters in which the company explores the trends and challenges of the telecommunications sector and expose its strategies and action plans to meet the demands of its customers in this regard. The Executive Briefing Center has 9 exhibition areas in which Huawei showcases technologies related fields such as digital home, Cloud IT infrastructure, devices or digital business, among others.
